Candace Carter is an award winning garden designer with over 30 years of garden design experience. In 2010 her personal garden was awarded the Garden of Distinction Award in the Pickering Blooms program. Over 100 gardens in Pickering were evaluated and 14 gardens were awarded the Garden of distinction Award in 4 categories: Schools, Businesses, Residential and Churches.
Recipients of the awards were invited to city council chambers to meet the Mayor Dave Ryan, receive their certificates and a prize package of gardening goodies and discount coupons.
